COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. To explore the need and advisability of existing and proposed ethical standards for mediators and how they relate to various models of mediation.
2. To allow students an opportunity to explore their own responses to these standards and the potential conflicts that may arise for them when standards and personal ethics and morality clash. TARGET AUDIENCE Mediators and Aspiring Mediators
MODES OF INSTRUCTION Lecture, interactive discussion, small group discussion
EVALUATION IF ANY STUDENT WISHES A GRADE Book report on "The Promise of Mediation" by Robert Baruch Bush and Joseph Folger, pub. Jossey-Bass, 1994 to be between 500 and 1000 typed or printed words that includes your evaluation of the values and shortcomings of the book's 4 models.
